The largest organ of our body, skin, also acts as a protective barrier, and hence it’s the first one to experience environmental assault and stress. To combat such concerns, we have a booster. Boosters are hyaluronic, collagen, or nucleotide-based injections that help in replenishing the hydration levels in the dermal layer, promoting better epidermal and dermal health, glow, and improved texture.
It is a gel-like bioactive material. This biocompatible, naturally derived polymer contains a polysaccharide, protein, or nucleotide like HA, collagen, PN, and PDRN.
HA is hyaluronic acid, which is a glycosaminoglycan and is an important component of the dermal extracellular matrix. It is a hydrophilic molecule that has the capacity to bind to water molecules 1000 times its volume, making the cutaneous components look more plump and hydrated. The hyaluronic injections help in maintaining the viscosity and elasticity of the skin. The depletion of hyaluronic acid leads to fine lines and deteriorated skin quality.
The HA booster treatment works by stimulating the collagen synthesis and enticing the fibroblast activity in the dermal layer. Further, the enhanced collagen production and fibroblast activity improve the structural support in the dermis. Not only does the collagen production increase, but the interaction of hyaluronic acid with the hyaluronan receptor inhibits collagenase activity, reducing the collagen breakdown and defying age. It is therefore also known as anti-aging booster treatment in many places.
HA
PN & PDRN
HA is composed of pure cross-linked hyaluronic acid in the form of boosters.
PDRN and PN, on the other hand, are salmon DNA healers and boosters, composed of polynucleotide and deoxyribonucleotide molecules.
HA rejuvenation is best suited and effective in treating dull, dehydrated skin exhibiting early signs of aging.
PN & PDRN molecules, on the other hand, help in improving cellular activity, reducing inflammation, and repairing dry, damaged skin by also simultaneously boosting collagen.
HA boosters can be given not just on face but also neck, hands, décolletage and any area where dullness and dehydration are causing a concern.
This biocompatible moisturizing injectable procedure can be given in any area, including under the eyes, where fine lines, pigmentation, and loss of elasticity are seen.
The guest is counselled first and assessed thoroughly to understand the individual need and requirement. Next, the skin is prepared by disinfecting and applying anesthetic cream to numb the area. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to numb the skin; post that, the cream is wiped off the face, and the physician marks the area of concern with a grid structure to define and divide dosage on the face, hand, or décolletage. Post that the real action begins and the product is injected into the skin in the form of small bolus.
The requirement and repetition of the therapy are needed for consistent results, making it difficult for cost-sensitive guests to opt for this therapy as advised and leading to dissatisfaction and unsatisfactory outcomes.
Skin boosters are generally considered to be safe treatment, but transient reactions like pain, discomfort, bruises, needle marks, and inflammation can occur at the injection site, making it difficult for a person to opt for it when there is an immediate engagement. In such cases it is always advised to get the therapy done 2 to 3 weeks prior to the occasion.
